In my opinion the piece of film it´s very good, thinking in it, we can saw how humanity lifes.
ReplyDeleteThe trhuth I think is that people love a place because that place has all the things that is enought for them to return.
Our life is full of dreams, hope and memories, one city is good for us when we take thing of it, and when we remember any moment only walking in it.
So, for end I´ll say that the video show us, making a good job, the diferent thinks that we must think for love a place or people.
It´s very emotional!!
" Mankind Is Not Island " it is a film so simple as brilliant.
ReplyDeleteIn my point of view, this film evokes the future, the hope, the happiness, the recognition..it is a kind of human feeling, the connection humanizes.
The best gift you can give a person in such a condition is seeing them for the person they are and listening to them. No one cares about them. Imagine how it would feel if no one ever missed you. Simply letting them know you care about what happens to them is more valuable than any spare change you have.
I think that this is a great way of get that the people start to be more human.
This is Andrea's comment on the video clip
Mankind is no Island!
ReplyDeleteThis video is a reflection about the mankind, the message is comunicated through two cities.
Although they are separated by a great ocean, in reality they have got the same problem. At first it shows images of love from people to the cities and after, it shows images with few love.
From my point of view this video is a call of attention to the society, for it the author uses, small recurses that it makes that we feel and think in serious problems after everything, I hope, that the world will recognize this and we will became a better society
It's amazing!!!

Thank you, Andrea, Cassandra and Sara, for your contributions about the homeless clip. This makes one think and it almost sends shivers down one's spine, doesn't, it?
ReplyDeleteThis short film shows us the differences of two cities, New York and Sidney. However the principal ideal is that when we talk about some city we only think on its monuments, shops, restaurants and other things but we never think about a lot of people who live in the streets because they haven’t a house to live with their families or alone, neither they have food to eat nor money to buy it. That people can be seen in New York, in Sidney and in all countries. For this reason, the film tries to make us aware this problem and that we think if we should love the cities or this people and if we should do something to help them.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore this short is very original because it uses a beatifual and sentimental music and it uses words of different items to make phases and in this way we pay more attention.

You’re totally right, Sandra. Thanks to a well-made and very direct video, we can be a bit more conscious about how important human poverty is and what’s more, we usually look away when we see these people begging in the street, don’t we?
Álvaro thinks that both cities are almost the same, in the sense that it's hard to live like that, without home. These are Álvaro's words:
ReplyDeleteMankind is no island
The director of the film shot it with a mobile phone. He was recording labels and posters in the streets, also homeless and people who live in street.
It seems that’s recorded on the streets of Sydney and New York. Two cities separated by an ocean, but with many things in common. In fact, it seems the same city, only one city. The same language, similar posters and the same problem: homeless, people who aren’t a home. Mankind is no island is a complicated name to awareness society of how hard is to live on the street in two of the most important cities in the world.
Researching on the Internet I found that this film won an award in NY.
Thank you, Álvaro, for your comments.
